India Gate, the national monument of India, is the most popular in the whole world as the largest war memorial in India. This monument was planned by the famous architect Sir Edwin Lutyens who have also designed the New Delhi. This memorial is constructed in the memorial of those Indian Army Soldiers who sacrificed their lives during world war and since 1971, ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’ or an eternal flame of the immortal warrior is burning under India Gate.

The building of India Gate is made of red stone that rises in stages into a huge moulding. The word ‘India’ is written on the both sides on top of the arch. Sunset is the best time to visit this monument when the structure is floodlit and the atmosphere becomes pleasant too. We can see lots of crowds around the lawns with many visitors in the evening especially when India Gate is brightly lit up. This location is situated at the heart of the capital and can easily accessible by the tourists. It is also the most popular picnic spot during summers and in winter months. When you visit India Gate, you should never forget to taste typical Indian fast foods like bhelpuri, fruit chaat, chana jor garam, dal ka pakoradas and much more.
